Board Member
We are always looking for new prospective Board Members here at the Amherst Youth Foundation. Our current Board Members are an intricate and important part of making the Foundation a success. This is a substantial and long term position. For further information about becoming a board member, please call our office at 716-633-6773.
Regular Work
We are always looking for volunteers to help out in our office! Because we are a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization, we depend on volunteers to help us get things done! We would be happy to work with you at your convenience.
Volunteer Monthly
Middle School Night
Middle School Night occurs once a month. 15-20 volunteers are needed for each event to help run and/or monitor activities at Melissa’s Coffee House. You may be helping with signing in kids ages 10-15 years, four square, basketball, arts and crafts or more. (3.5-4 hours)
Volunteer One Time/Annually
Walk for Melissa
January: Walk for Melissa is an annual event that takes place at the Boulevard Mall to raise money for programs at Melissa’s Coffee House. Several volunteers are needed to help plan, implement, and staff the event. You will receive a free t-shirt for your help at the event.
Annual Gala
March: Several Volunteers are needed at our Annual Gala each year. Volunteers are especially needed in helping in the kitchen and on the floor. A meal is provided for all volunteers.
Dusk to Dawn Relay
May: Our Dusk to Dawn Relay is an annual twelve hour event to help raise money for the Amherst Youth Foundation. Volunteers are needed throughout the event at the wellness fair, talent show, to work in tents, to play games, and more. Meals and a shirt are provided for all volunteers.
Golf Classic
August: Volunteers are needed at our Annual Golf Classic to help throughout the day. Volunteers are needed to help set up, clean up, to work at beverage stations, and to watch contest holes. Meals are provided for volunteers.
Dinner Theater or Dance
May and October: Several Volunteers are needed at our Annual Dinner Theater event to set up and clean up, serve tables, clear tables, and to help in the kitchen. Dinner is provided for all volunteers.
All of the money raised at AYF events is used to support local youth programming.
